Who is Dr Yaacoub ?
Dr. Hiba Yaacoub is a psychiatrist and addiction specialist at Bellevue Medical Center and an active member of the Lebanese Psychiatric Society (LPS). She has collaborated with several non-governmental organizations, such as the International Medical Corps (IMC) and Shield, and has experience working with children with special needs through her previous involvement with the Step Together Association.
Dr. Yaacoub earned her medical degree in Lebanon in 2014 and completed her psychiatric training at the Psychiatric Hospital of the Cross in 2019. She holds a University Diploma (DU) in addiction studies from Saint Joseph University.
Her experience in the field includes working at the JCD inpatient rehabilitation facility and the RESET outpatient rehabilitation clinic, where she gained expertise in Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) prescriptions. Additionally, she spent one year in the mental health department at Saint Jean in Brussels from 2017 to 2018, and completed a two-month neuroimaging research elective at the New York State Psychiatric Institute in 2017.
Outside of her clinical practice, Dr. Yaacoub has taught at various universities, including the psychology departments at Université Saint-Esprit de Kaslik (USEK) and the University of Balamand-Faculty of Medicine (UoB-FOM).
